I started taekwondo in 1999, and after my intro
class I told Master Richie, "For better or worse, you've got
me..." Little did I know that I would still be there after this
many years, and that I would be testing for 3rd degree and assistant
instructor as well! Even more than the physical and mental
challenges of training, I value the friendships that have developed with
instructors and students. They push me to do my best in taekwondo,
but they also encourage me in my life outside the school. If I
hadn't started taekwondo I would have missed out on a lot of great
experiences.
"For physical training is of some value,
but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the
present life and the life to come." (1 Timothy 4:8)
