Senior Instructor
While in the American TKD Association I was nominated for Regional
“Instructor Trainee of the Year” in 1999, and placed 4th
overall in the prestigious annual TKD “World Championships” Tournament
in 1999. I also continuously
attend clinics in other combat systems to expand my knowledge-base.
My main goal in Martial Arts now is two fold: (1) to attain mastery in TKD
and (2) continue to enhance my current skill-set with different techniques
and theories.
The most important things to me in order is: my “walk” with
Jesus Christ allowing Him to transform me into type of person I was meant
to be; my wife who supports me and gives me perspective; my children who
give me great joy and hope will be recipients of the knowledge achieved
thus far and go further than I; my extended family, friends, and co-owners
who continue to exhort me; and finally but not least my students who have
the confidence in me and my staff to teach them the richness of martial
arts and oblige me in sharing my faith.
Favorite quote: There
some great ones out there, but from a day-to-day…one foot in front of
the other…nothing too lofty…I draw strength from God’s word in
Ecclesiastes: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is what is
required of mankind (our duty to our creator and others).” 12:13 and
“…that is good and proper for man to eat and drink, and to find
satisfaction in his daily labor during the few days God has given
him…(stop to enjoy where we might be currently in life)” 5:18.
